Deepika Padukone is the daughter of former World badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. The hot actress did many campaigns for Liril soap, Close-Up toothpaste, Limca etc.She was the brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India. She was recognised internationally when Maybelline, a prestigious cosmetic company made her their new international cover face. She was awarded the title of Model of the Year at the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards.

She was one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006.The hot bollywood actress won two trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006 – Female Model of the year and Fresh Face of the year. She started her film career by starring in the music video for “Naam Hai Tera” with Himesh Reshammiya. There are some rumours about Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone relations but the fact was not confirmed by either of them.

Though Deepika Padukone played badminton during her school days she could not go beyond state level, she just moved to modelling.Deepika Padukone grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan and never really imagined that one day I will get to play the lead opposite him. It was a wonderful experience working with Shah Rukh and Farah. I have learnt a lot from both of them.

Shah Rukh is a great human being. I had done quite a bit of modeling and wanted to give acting a try. That’s when Farah approached me and I accepted. Today, I’m so glad that I waited since I could not have had a better debut.Farah and SRK have taken superb care of me. Farah treats me like her child. I never wanted to be a Bollywood heroine. The thought never crossed my mind.

As a child, I never stuck poses in front of the mirror.I will be choosy and work in good films only. I am not interested in exposing even if I am offered good money.I played state level badminton till the 10th standard. Then I had to study for my ICSE board exams, so I stopped playing for three months and modelling happened after that.
